Micah Centre is a training school for cross-cultural caring mission. Trainees not only have to leave their comfort zone, learn to read Bible and serve in BM, they also allow God to gradually shape their lives.

In this new issue of Serve The East Bulletin, "Training in Micah Centre - Break Out Of Cocoon", you will learn about the growth and transformation of the trainees for this year. We will also share the recent updates of Micah alumni.

The Chinese churches are currently providing spiritual, economic and educational support to the indigenous people, hoping to bring transformation among rural communities, where the poverty of indigenous people can be eradicated.

But what's next❓ What is the ultimate goal of Serve The East❓

It is a natural desire of parents to want their children to receive good and quality education. 🎓

Without disappointing, this is what the kindergartens in the cities offer too. They have prepared vast varieties of syllabus and curriculums; all intend to attract parents to enrol their children to their school. In comparison, the early childhood education centres in the interior of Sabah are often facing challenges such as shortage of teachers and resources, poor management, and unstable income.

Unfold the covenant of our land: Indigenous People as the firstborn

We may not have too much to give, we can always walk with the Indigenous people as one family in God’s kingdom. When we can see the Indigenous people in their true identity, to honour them as the firstborn of this land, and have them assuming the rightful place, we can together inherit the blessings of this land, and to receive the glorious Kingdom of God in our nation.

It’s God’s Calling!

The shortage of pastors is a long-standing problem for most Indigenous churches in the interior of Sabah. The believers are left without shepherds, their knowledge of Word of God shallow and their spiritual growth stunted, resulting in some abandoning their faith easily. Meanwhile, Pastor Jainis...

Under such circumstances, residents in rural areas cannot go to towns to buy daily necessities. In addition, crops in some areas do not have any harvest, resulting in the Indigenous community in interior Sabah experienced food shortages. Yuan-Han Journeying Together

We hope that the indigenous people will rise up to become true disciples of Jesus, that their children may receive education from tender age, that they can enjoy financial independence and breakaway from poverty, their dignity being restored, that they can have a harmonious relationship with the environment and society, and we hope to see people of their own standing up and speaking out for the injustices in their community.

Who is my family?

Whoever followed the will of God is the one who is saved by the grace of God, and having the same blood of Jesus. Therefore, despite how are my relationships with people, despite the differences in skin colors, cultures or languages, Orang Asal are Jesus Christ’s brothers, sisters and mother and I should see them as my family too.

Local Cross-Cultural Caring Mission

In the year 2012, God gave HISTEAM a special call, which is the call to “Serve the East”. In the following year, as Malaysia celebrated her golden jubilee, we further received a reinforced reminder in the spirit that it is time for the Chinese churches to “repay the debts” to the native people.
