January 
  • 8 trainees completed their training and graduated from Micah Centre at the 4th Graduation Ceremony.
  • The first Topical Sharing of Yuan-Han Journeying Together was held,  which focused on the Spiritual Empowerment of the Indigenous people.

February​
  • 6 trainees who graduated from Micah Centre shared their testimonies and experiences during their training.
  • Through the Yuan-Han Journeying Together Seed Fund, an Indigenous pastor from the rural area receives monthly financial support.
March​
  • 2 alumni  from the 4th cohort of Micah Centre (Chun Siew Yoong and Moses Goh) joined Serve The East (STE) ministry as interns.
  • The second Topical Sharing of Yuan-Han Journeying Together was held, which focused on the Economy Empowerment of the Indigenous people.
  • Exploring partnership with Malaysian Care to provide financial literacy programmes in rural Ranau to empower the Indigenous people financially.

April
  • Micah  Co-workers Training: How To Be A Better Mentor.
  • Our co-worker, Timothy Lee led our intern, Moses Goh, to visit 3 villages at Ranau. They met with leaders of the villages and conducted surveys to gather information on the  needs of the villages.
  • Another alumnus from 4th cohort of Micah Centre (Loh Li Bo) joined STE ministry as an intern.​

PRAY FOR SERVE THE EAST

1. STE Team

​Thank God for bringing three alumni (Chun SIew Yoong, Moses Goh and Loh Li Bo) to the team as interns.  May God lead them throughout their internship, and grow towards maturity as they serve. May their gifts be unleashed as they serve, work humbly as a team and find their callings to serve.
​

2. Micah 5th Cross-Cultural Discipleship Training
Micah 5th batch of Cross-Cultural Training will commence in June. May God bring in more Chinese  youngsters to the training programme, prepare them to experience God and be equipped to serve in the training, experience cross-cultural ministry as they humbly walk with the indigenous people and hence willing to commit to cross-cultural mission work.

3. Rural Community Development and Empowerment Plan
This year, one of the main empowerment plans is to educate the indigenous people on financial  management through conducting fundamental financial literacy courses.  Through these courses, we hope the families learn the habit of savings, budgeting, giving tithes etc, to become good stewards of their resources. Pray that God will grant us success in this plan that every Indigenous family involved will be benefiting from the courses.

4. Rural Companionship Class (Kelas Teman Baca KTB)
Another development plan for this year is to improve the facilities of KTB such as connecting electricity, installing fans and light bulbs, constructing toilet, repairing the fences, changing new floor mat etc. The aim is to provide a better learning environment for the children. May God provide our financial needs and grant us success.

  • 第一次原汉同行专题分享,探讨如何在灵性上赋权予原住民。

  • 第四届弥迦学员见证分享会,6位学员分享他们在弥迦培训的经历和见证。
  • 透过原汉同行种子基金,资助一位乡区牧者每月的生活津贴。
3月份
  • 两位第四届的弥迦毕业生(陈秀蓉、吴其原)加入向东服务,成为实习同工。
  • 第二次原汉同行专题分享,探讨如何在经济上赋权予原住民。
  • 与沙巴基怀 (Malaysian Care) 商讨在兰瑙乡区进行财务管理培训课程,在经济上赋权予当地原住民。

4月份
  • 弥迦同工培训:如何成为更好的督导 (Mentor)
  • 同工 Timothy 带领实习同工吴其原一同到兰瑙的三个乡村做探访工作,会见村里的领袖,进行实地考察并收集资料。
  • 又有一位第四届弥迦毕业生(骆丽宝)加入向东服务,成为实习同工。

为 向 东 代 祷
1. 向东服务同工团队 
感谢神,今年带领三位弥迦毕业生(陈秀蓉、吴其原、骆丽宝)加入向东服务,成为实习同工。求主带领他们整个实习的过程,能在服侍中更成长成熟,勇敢发挥个人恩赐,谦卑与团队同心配搭,找到未来服侍的方向和呼召。
2. 第五届弥迦跨文化门训​
弥迦学员第五届门徒培训将于六月份正式启动。求主感动更多华人年轻人参加这个培训,预备每个参加此培训的年轻人,在过程中更经历神、被装备去服侍,更深地体验跨文化的服侍,谦卑与原住民同行,并愿意委身于跨文化宣教。
3. 乡区发展赋权计划
今年其中一个乡区赋权计划,就是希望透过财务管理基础课程,教导原住民家庭关于管理家庭财务的基本概念,如建立储蓄习惯、家庭预算、十一奉献等等,帮助原住民成为金钱的好管家。求主带领这项计划能够顺利进行,也预备每个参加的原住民家庭能从此课程中获益。

4. 乡区儿童陪读班
今年其中一个发展目标,就是提升陪读班的基本硬体设施,如安装电源、风扇、电灯、建造厕所、维修篱笆、更换地毯等等,希望能为陪读班的孩子们提供更舒适的学习环境。求主为我们预备所需的费用,让整个工程能够顺利完成。
